A biopic TV series on the Prophet Moses (PBUH) is set to be produced by the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), an official with the organization says.
The deputy head of the IRIB, Morteza Mirbagheri, made the remarks on Sunday, adding that the religious biopic series is based on Quranic descriptions and references from al-Mizan.
Tafsir al-Mizan is an exegesis on the holy Quran. It was written by Allamah Sayyid Muhammad Husayn Tabatabaee.
Late Iranian director Farajolaeh Salahshour was in the process of writing the screenplay of the TV series at the time of his death, Mirbagheri also said.
According to the official, one of the most probable candidates for directing the biopic series is Jamal Shourjeh. The cast and crew are also professional, he added.
The series will be produced in 72 episodes and religious advisors were asked on comment on the series script.
Moses (PBUH) is a prophet in Abrahamic religions and in several instances he has been mentioned in the holy Quran.
